The Badass Economist (TBE for short) has a varied resume’ that includes the following  tidbits and facts:

1.) Built his own home with his father as a young teenager.

2.) Ran a farm business as a teenager and young adult that paid for college.

3.) Played chess and basketball for his high school.

4.) Obtained a B.A. in International Relations (U.C Davis) and an M.A. in International Economics & Finance (Brandeis University).

5.) Graduated cum laude from U.C. Davis and is a member of 5 academic honor societies.

6.) Has worked in Switzerland and was an exchange student in Germany.

7.) Speaks German and Italian.

8.) Currently has a banking career in lending money to small businesses.

9.) Currently has relatives in 4 different countries (U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Italy).

10.) Has visited or lived in 12 different countries.

11.) Has given finance lectures to legislative staff inside the California State Capitol.

12.) Engaged in a staged political debate in front of 200 high school kids in the California Secretary Of State’s Office.

13.) Was President of  Solano County Civil Service Commission.

14.) Worked out in the fields alongside migrant farm workers.

15.) Worked in an industrial print shop.

16.) Pulled his parents car out of gear and steered it into a ditch at the age of 3.

17.) Once flooded his parent’s bathroom while trying to turn the shower into an indoor swimming pool.

18.) His kindergarten teacher was an ex-Marine.

19.) Once played a high school basketball game in Arco Arena (the former home court of the Sacramento Kings of the NBA).

20.) Accidently knocked out a teammate’s front tooth while playing basketball in high school. That individual is now a cop, and TBE doesn’t travel to that particular town.

21.) Has driven across the U.S. by himself twice.

22.) Has been stuck out in the New Mexican desert, with a broken down car in 100 degree heat.

23.) Has been the “best man” in 3 different weddings.

24.) His father bought him a shotgun when he was 6.

25.) Has a scar on each hand caused by cuts suffered while handling firearms.

26.) Accidently fired a bb gun, and was hit it the head by a ricochet (No permanent damage was observed-at least that is his opinion anyway).

27.) Was once shot at by a cranky neighbor.

28.) Was nearly shot on a hunting trip when another hunter accidently fired a shot, missing TBE by a few feet.

29.) Shot 450 birds in Argentina that were then given to poor people to provide meat.

30.) Was once stopped and questioned by a Russian policeman on suspicion that he might be a Chechen terrorist.

31.) Had to swim in from the middle of a lake after the boat he was riding on was sunk.

32.) Helped police track down and recapture 2 stolen cars.

33.) Thwarted the stealing of high value wood by experienced thieves.

34.) Was nearly shot by police while walking on his property.

35.) Survived flooding of his house after a levy break. Area was declared a federal disaster area. Proceeded to live upstairs for the next 6 months while house was being repaired.

36.) Favorite subjects include economics, finance, politics, military history, strategy & tactics.
